The Building of Our Yurt

Remote cabins are great, but there is something about the circular structure of a Yurt that is aesthetically appealing.

The Yurt was shipped to us in a large crate with all parts carefully marked for easy assembly. In one day with a crew of six people, we were able to erect most of it except for the side vinyl. It was amazing to us how fast we were able to put it together and how uniquely it was made.  Freezing October weather was pushing us to finish, but we had a lot of fun.

All building materials were hauled in a jon boat up a lake and river to the landing site.
